Elizabeth and Tom Schubert are going through a marital crisis due to jealousy of him. They decide given a new opportunity and travel to Phuket in Thailand, where they expected Julia, a friend of Elizabeth to that Tom does not support. The couple had a heated argument and she decides to leave with Julia for a few days, a period in which lives a romance with an attractive architect.

In September 1989, more and more GDR citizens fled to the West German embassy in Prague. Among them were Stefan and Bettina, who were spending their honeymoon in Czechoslovakia. When Stefan briefly returns to the GDR to fetch their young son, he also brings their friends Karin and Thomas with him. There is no end to the influx of refugees and the embassy is completely overwhelmed with those wanting to leave. What's more, despite hectic negotiations behind the scenes, no political solution seems to be on the horizon. The situation in the embassy garden is becoming increasingly dramatic. A humanitarian catastrophe is imminent.

Die Deutschen is a German television documentary produced for ZDF that first aired from October to November 2008. Each episode recounts a selected epoch of German history, beginning with the reign of Otto the Great and ending with the collapse of the German Empire at the end of the First World War. In November 2010 the second season of Die Deutschen was published in German television, beginning with Charlemagne, the Frankish King, and ending with Gustav Stresemann, the Chancellor and Foreign Minister during the Weimar Republic.Historical events are recreated through a combination of live action scenes and computer generated animations. The series was filmed at over 200 different locations in Germany, Malta, and Romania at a cost of approximately €500,000 per episode.

Den Helder, just another town somewhere in the North of Holland. But today is not a day like all the others for Maarten and Emiel, the two sons of an ordinary family. In 1979 Tarkovsky began the production of the film The First Day (Russian: Первый День Pervyj Dyen′), based on a script b y his friend and long-term collaborator Andrei Konchalovsky. The film was set in 18th-century Russia during the reign of Peter the Great and starred Natalya Bondarchuk and Anatoli Papanov. To get the project approved by Goskino, Tarkovsky submitted a script that was different from the original script, omitting several scenes that were critical of the official atheism in the Soviet Union. After shooting roughly half of the film the project was stopped by Goskino after it became apparent that the film differed from the script submitted to the censors. Tarkovsky was reportedly infuriated by this interruption and destroyed most of the film.
